As both a physician and a recent amputee, I would like to express both my gratitude and praise for the Cape Amputee Team. In spite of extensive instruction by both my surgeon there persisted a feeling of apprehension on entering a new phase in my life which I did not welcome. Prior to the time of my amputation, I attended the clinic and it was extremely helpful to me and  made my transition much easier. The basic terminology was explained and was a great benefit during my early post operative period. Other information including the care of the residual limb, the use of shrinkers, adaptation to your temporary prosthesis, and proper walking were also explained in great detail and I am now able to comfortably and confidently deal with the prosthesis itself.

As an above knee amputee for some 20 years, I can honestly say that my prosthesis made Jayson Chin & Associates is my best one so far! Congratulations to Dave for the most technically balanced leg, and to  Jayson for the gait corrections…. I am now the most confident I have ever been on my leg.

I sit here with tears in my eyes, not because I am sad, but because I am happy. I can’t thank you enough for all the hard work you have put into making me a great, comfortable fitting leg. I continue to bike 5 – 10 kms/day… I feel like a new person

Their dedication in assisting me with my appointments, my financial responsibility and making sure my prosthesis is as comfortable and lifelike as possible has been incredible. I am so thankful and blessed to have met these amazing people.

I am really moved with your help, support, compassionate and  professionalism you and your team have shown to Pauline. It was a shock to Pauline to realise she can meet people who are dedicated and willing to address her stump problem.

I believe your team has cured my sister in some way by just listening to her and aknowledging that there is a problem which has never happened to her. After the meeting on Thursday, she told me she felt like for the first time people sat down and just listened without judging, mocking her but just wanting to do their best to help.

What you and your team has done to Pauline is beyond words….you have shown her that there is hope and she can trust people.
